Teen Driver Education

• 30-Hours of Classroom
  Taught in four 8-hour days from 8 AM to 4 PM. The classroom consists of textbook, lectures, videos, and guest speakers. We use a textbook and the LA Class E Driving Manual.
• State Written Test
  The test is taken at the end of the day. All students must pass with a minimum of 80%. An option to retest after driving is possible.
• 8-Hours of Private Behind-the-Wheel Driving Instruction
  Four 2-hour sessions. All students begin in a parking lot for assessment and then progress in a structured lesson plan. Free pick-up and drop-off for students in the Donaldsonville area, Donaldsonville High School, Ascension Catholic, and Thrive Academy.
• State Road Skills Test

You are required to obtain a Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP) prior to the first day of class. All teen classes require attendance at a parent meeting prior to the start of the course. Parent meetings will be held via zoom. This package is for 16 and 9 months old- 17 years old ONLY.

This package includes an additional fee for pick-up and drop-off to your home for the behind-the-wheel driving lessons.

Some students require more than eight hours of behind-the-wheel lessons. We offer additional training in 2-hour time slots. This extra time is great for working on a specific maneuver or just gaining more experience driving.

Advanced Driving Skils is for students with a learner's permit or intermediate license who require extra practice with complex skills.  This course will focus on new traffic features (roundabouts, complex intersections, urban driving), interstate driving, and night driving.
